Gunmetal Overdrive, a currently in development open world racing game, is my seventh and last group project at The Game Assembly and was made in our group's custom game engine, Spare Parts.

"In a distant future where bike racing is the way of life, your legacy as the top racer is sabotaged by gang leaders during the most notorious race of the desert. Climb your way back to the top by facing the gangs, re-building your reputation with your sentient bike, collecting new and legendary bike parts as you explore the history of this vast world."

Gunmetal Overdrive was built in Spare Parts, our group's custom game engine. SP is an Archetype-Based ECS based on The Game Assembly's proprietary game engine, TGE, and visualised using Dear ImGui.
The main areas that I worked on during this project was:

PhysX optimization and Heightfield collision implementation
- Further development of my MSDF-rendered text implementation
- Minimap generation, from a CatmullRom spline to an MSDF texture
